The Crossing Borders programme provides international research grants to authors, film-makers and photographers who address current social issues and seek to reflect their impact on different cultures and societies through their work. The aim of the programme is to support the creation of publications that refute commonly held stereotypes, inspire dialogue and promote mutual understanding. Crossing Borders is a Robert Bosch Stiftung programme, conducted in cooperation with the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin.

Applicants from China (including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao), India, Indonesia, Japan and Vietnam are welcome to apply for research grants in Germany.

Research grants are available for literary and essay prose works, poetry, photo-text volumes, children’s and young adults’ literature, scripts for documentary and feature films, radio programmes and multimedia productions. The grant size depends on the research duration with a maximum amount of € 10,000. A detailed calculation can be made easily with the aid of the online application form.

The application period is from September 1st until October 31st 2018.
