![]() Composed by Mozart, Le Nozze di Figaro is honoured as „the most perfect opera of all time“. It had its premiere on May 1st, 1786 at the Burgtheater in Vienna, with Mozart as the conductor. But since the theme was too avant-garde for the social culture of that time, some aristocrats felt indignant at it. The emperor, who had great admiration for this work, had to ask Mozart to revise the content several times. The German version of Le Nozze di Figaro was premiered in Berlin in 1790. The NCPA production Le Nozze di Figaro premiered on August 15th, 2013, with a box office miracle created in its first round. The China NCPA Orchestra will take the stage under the baton of Artistic Director LÜ Jia. Date: 15.-20.07.2025 Beijing, National Center for the Performing Arts |
![]() The Philharmonic State Orchestra is Hamburg's largest and oldest orchestra, looking back on a rich musical history. Philharmonic concerts have been performed in Hamburg since 1828, artists such as Clara Schumann, Franz Liszt and Johannes Brahms being regular guests of the Philharmonic Society. The history of the opera company goes back even further: Hamburg has been home to musical theatre since 1678. To this day, the Philharmonic State Orchestra represents the sound of Hamburg, the Hansa City, and embodies a concert and opera orchestra in one. Starting with the 2015/2016 season, Kent Nagano has taken on the position of Hamburg's General Music Director and Chief Conductor of the Philharmonic State Orchestra and the Hamburg State Opera alongside Georges Delnon as Artistic Director of the Opera and Orchestra. The stylistic bandwidth covered by the 140 musicians, ranging from historically informed performance practice to contemporary works and including concert, opera and ballet repertoire, is unique throughout Germany. Its exceptional tonal and virtuosic qualities soon took worldwide concert audiences by storm, and now the 12 Cellists enjoy a remarkable international following. They have accompanied the German president as ambassadors of Berlin and appeared on several occasions at the Japanese Imperial Palace. Their CDs regularly make the charts and in 2001, 2005 and 2017 were awarded the Echo Klassik prize. Dates: 07.07.2025 Shanghai, Oriental Art Center 08.07.2025 Shenzhen, Shenzhen Concert Hall |
